April promotion Hydro Dermabrasion with Electroporation aftercare guide in San Francisco

Right after Hydro Dermabrasion with Electroporation, your number one rule is simple: keep your skin calm and protected. That means no sun, no heavy sweating, no hot water, and no active exfoliating products for the first couple of days. This April promo facial combines deep cleansing, gentle exfoliation, and advanced serum infusion, so your skin is primed to absorb what I put on it. In San Francisco, that also means daily SPF even if it’s foggy near the Embarcadero. Protect the result now and you’ll hold onto that smooth, hydrated glow longer.

0–24 Hours: the “don’t mess with it” window after hydro dermabrasion

If you’re squeezing this facial into a lunch break around the Financial District or Ferry Building area, plan for a low-key rest of the day. Your skin usually looks fresh right away, but it’s still in a more receptive state because of the exfoliation plus electroporation infusion.

For the first 24 hours, keep it simple: gentle cleanse only, hydrate, and SPF if you step outside. Skip makeup, skip heat, skip sweat.

Do this the day of your facial

  • Cleanse with a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser. No scrubs, no cleansing brushes.
  • Use the serum I send you home with and keep your skin hydrated.
  • Apply SPF 30+ any time you’re outdoors. Waterfront fog in San Francisco does not block UV.
  • Keep showers lukewarm and quick.

Avoid this for 24 hours

  • No exercise or anything that makes you sweat heavily.
  • No hot showers, steam rooms, saunas, or hot yoga.
  • No makeup. Let your pores stay clear.
  • No picking at congestion that “looks ready.” If something feels bumpy, let me know and I’ll guide you.

24–72 Hours: sweat, sun, and “actives” are the three things that steal your glow

Most people feel totally fine after hydro dermabrasion plus electroporation. The goal in days 2 and 3 is to protect your barrier so the hydration sticks around and your skin stays even.

Exercise: I recommend avoiding heavy sweating for 48 hours. Light walking is usually fine if you can keep your face cool and you’re not baking in the sun. If you’re commuting from Oakland, Berkeley, Sausalito, Daly City, South San Francisco, or Alameda, try to plan transit so you’re not power-walking uphill in a jacket right after your appointment.

Sun and waterfront time: this is a big one in San Francisco. Even on overcast days near the Embarcadero, UV still gets through. Keep SPF on, reapply if you’re outside for more than a quick run, and wear a hat if you can.

Products: hold off on retinoids, vitamin C, AHAs/BHAs, and exfoliating pads for at least 3 to 7 days unless I’ve told you otherwise. A lot of people are eager to “keep the momentum, ” but that’s exactly how irritation sneaks in.

Days 3–7: how I want you cleansing and moisturizing (so texture stays smooth)

This is the week to be boring on purpose. Hydro dermabrasion clears out dead skin and congestion. Electroporation helps drive active ingredients in deeper without needles or downtime. Your job is to avoid the stuff that inflames, dries, or overstimulates.

Quick check-in: mild tightness can happen if you’re used to stronger products. Stinging, swelling, or anything that feels like a rash is not a “push through it” moment. Pause your actives and message me.

  • Cleanse once or twice a day with a gentle cleanser.
  • Moisturize morning and night. Think barrier support, not fancy fragrance.
  • SPF 30+ every morning. Reapply if you’re outside, even if it’s foggy.
  • Skip exfoliation for a full week unless I’ve set a specific plan for you.

And if you’re someone who loves exfoliation, I get it. I talk a lot about enzyme exfoliants in my room because they’re effective and can be gentler. But timing matters. The week after your facial is not the week to experiment.

Safe products right after electroporation: what I actually mean by “gentle”

When people search “facials near me” or “skin care near me, ” they’re usually looking for results without a complicated routine. After this facial, simple works best.

The short list I like for days 1–3

  • Gentle cleanser: fragrance-free, no exfoliating beads, no acids.
  • Hyaluronic acid serum: great for that plump, hydrated look people love right after a facial.
  • Barrier-supporting moisturizer: something that seals hydration in and calms.
  • SPF 30+: non-negotiable. Especially in San Francisco where people underestimate UV.

Hold off on retinoids, vitamin C, AHAs/BHAs, and exfoliating wipes for 3 to 7 days unless I’ve told you to restart sooner. If you’re doing dermaplaning, an acne facial, nano infusion therapy, or another active service in your routine, ask me how to space it out so your skin stays calm.

If something feels “off” after hydro dermabrasion, I want to hear about it

Most people leave my studio feeling comfortable, hydrated, and glowy. That’s the goal. But if you’re seeing redness that won’t settle, noticeable swelling, blistering, or your skin feels hot and angry past the first day, don’t guess. Reach out so I can tell you what to pause and what to do next.

“What I appreciate most is that she actually listens.”

one of our long-time clients

That listening piece matters in aftercare too. If you tell me you’re dry, sensitive, dealing with rosacea, or you’ve got a big event coming up, I’ll keep your plan realistic and easy to follow.

Rebooking timing: For most people, maintenance facials land best after your skin has had a chance to settle. I often suggest spacing infusions and “active” treatments about 2 to 4 weeks apart, depending on what we’re working on.

If you’re also coming in for waxing, like a brazilian wax, bikini wax, or facial waxing, let me know your schedule so I can help you space things comfortably.
